I thought I'd end this week with our first blog post on our upcoming updates to DevExpress Dashboard. Quick reminder to those who've not used it or tried our demos - DevExpress Dashboard only ships as part of our Universal Subscription and allows you to create self-serviced business analytics solutions for Windows and the Web and distribute them royalty free.
Web Dashboards
This first part of this blog post about DevExpress Dashboard v16.1 involves our new compact web theme. As the name implies, we've worked to improve the rendering of our Dashboard so that the size of visual elements displayed within a dashboard layout are better optimized for certain use-case scenarios...in particular when running a dashboard on a desktop browser (where screen real-estate is not as limited as that on tablet devices).
To get started with this compact theme and incorporate it in your next project, simply set the ASPxDashboardViewer.ColorScheme property to either "light.compact" or "dark.compact".
Windows Dashboards
In addition to Web Dashboard enhancements, we've also improved our Windows Dashboard Viewer with the following new capabilities:
- Right to Left Language (RTL) support
- Improved support for High DPI
- Improved Touch UI mode
We've got a number of other important new features set for release in v16.1 and I'll discuss those next week - They include "Text Box" and "Image" Binding, UX enhancements, a new web dashboard designer and an in-memory data storage option.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on our Dashboard and how you're using it in your enterprise. Of particular interest is whether you prefer the Web Dashboard or Windows Dashboard Viewer.
