If you've been following our AI-related blog posts, you know that we've planned the following AI enhancements to our UI component libraries in our next major update (v24.2, set for release in December 2024):

“Chat with Your Own Data”
Incorporate Azure OpenAI Chat Assistants and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for custom data interactions when using DevExpress Data Grids, Reports, and more.
Offline AI Model Support
Utilize ONNX Runtime and Ollama for running AI models without an internet connection.
Previews
The screenshots/samples below leverage our Blazor Data Grid, Blazor Reports, and Rich Text Editor libraries. As you'll see, by using AI-chat component/natural language, your DevExpress-powered Blazor app can quickly filter/shape data, collect document summaries, ask questions, and obtain answers about report content, table data, etc. Needless to say, AI integrations will not be limited to our Blazor product line - we will propagate smart AI functions to a variety of different platforms - from Blazor, JavaScript and .NET MAUI to WinForms, WPF, and the VCL (roadmaps).
Blazor Report Viewer: Analyze Market Share
In this example, users can ask the following questions using the AI-chat component (invoked from the built-in Copilot menu at the top-right corner of the DevExpress Report Viewer component:
- How did market share change in India?
- How did sales in Germany change?
- In what region do we have the largest market share?
Blazor Report Viewer: Filter Order Drill-Down Reports
By adding our AI integrations to your solution, end-users can ask the following questions using the AI-chat component:
- List invoices from August 2022
- Which invoice is the largest?
- What products were ordered on this invoice?
Blazor Data Grid: Get Suggestions on Project Tasks
AI can also be used to simplify/enhance information analysis for data displayed within grid components. For instance, users can ask the following questions in the AI-chat component:
- Which tasks should the team focus on and why?
- Which of these three projects is currently lagging and needs more resources for completion?
Blazor Rich Text Editor: Transform Text with the AI-Assistant Menu
AI is not simply limited to analysis or search enhancement - your DevExpress-powered app can leverage AI to proofread/translate text, obtain document summaries, and rewrite text using a different style.
Your Feedback Matters
Once again, should you have any questions about our planned AI integrations or if you'd like to discuss AI-related usage scenarios with us, please submit a support ticket via the DevExpress Support Center. As always, your feedback is very important.
